1967 Buick Riviera
I bought this car 22 years ago, off a local car lot, here in Webster City. It had the 430 big block when I bought it. Being that I was only 17 at the time, I may have drove it a bit hard, therefore I blew the engine. :( I then put a 455 out of a 72 Electra into it. About a year later I met my Wife Jen. Just before we got married we sold the Rivy to my father. He owned the car for the next 20 years. It didn't get driven hardly at all, in that time. Pretty much just sat that whole time. Then in March 2012, I finally got the old girl back from dad. Thanks Dad. When my friend Chad and I went over to get the Rivy, all we took was a little gas, some brake fluid, and a battery. With just a bit off gas squirted into the carb, the old 455 fired right up, and purred like it had been only yesterday. You can imagine my delight. I put some brake fluid in it, and drove it home. We've got some body work, and painting to do, and some other minor things to take care of. I've still got the original 430, one day I'll get it put back in. For now though, it is just great to have her back. |
